Below are the four riding routes for the 2017 Tour of Novato. Participants can ride in one of four routes designed to accommodate riders of all abilities. In addition to the riding routes, there is a walking tour of downtown Novato. All rides and walks start and end on Sherman Avenue near the intersection of Grant Avenue in downtown Novato. Route Markers - Each route is marked with different colored Route Arrows on the road surface. See below for colors. Each turn has one or more arrows before the turn, one arrow at the turn, and one confirmation arrow after the turn.

West Marin Metric Century

Total distance is 62.53 miles. The route has a total ascent of 4,144.51 ft and has a maximum elevation of 729.66 ft. Follow the Red arrows. For more information, see West Marin Metric CenturyDownload Map (PDF)

Novato Classic

Total distance is 24.9 miles. The route has a total ascent of 1,022.15 ft and has a maximum elevation of 225.3 ft. Follow the Yellow arrows. Download Map (PDF)

Family Ride

CycleBar Challenge

Want to have a great ride without worrying about the hazards on the road? Not to mention the weather! We have just the option for you. Our friends at Novato CycleBar in the Hamilton Marketplace are hosting an indoor ride in the safe confines of their incredible facility. Not only will you have a great experience while cycling to the beats choreographed by one of their CycleStars but there will be food and treats for you as well. Sign up for this route and we'll send you information on how to sign up for a time and bike as we get closer to the event.

Tyke Trek

A short, flat, and easy ride around the event area.

Starting at 10:00 am supplies are available for children of all ages who have registered for the event, to decorate their Bike, Trike, or Scooter. After decorating their Tyke Trek-mobile of choice, there’s a bike safety rodeo at 10:00 am, hosted by MCBC / Safe Routes to School,followed by a short parade around the confines of Machin & Sherman Avenues starting at 10:45am. While no cars are permitted in this area during the event, there will be many pedestrians so please stay with your child at all times to insure their safety. Each registered participant will receive an event t-shirt, lunch and admission to the Fun Inflatable Zone. Additional lunches or Fun Inflatable Zone admissions are available for unregistered family members in advance through the Tour of Novato Store, or at the registration tent the day of the event.

Downtown Walking Adventure

Total distance is approximately 4.2 km (2.6 miles). A flat and easy walk around downtown Novato. The 2017 Route Map is not yet available, but will be very similar to the 2015 Route Map (PDF).
