What’s New for 2017
Welcome to our new and returning participants. We've planned another great event for you this year with some fresh and interesting activities.
Revised Metric Century Route
The Metric Centry Route is taking a slightly different route this year to incorporate some of the beautiful backroads scenery of Northwest Marin County. Make sure that you are following the current route by checking out our route page.
Family Registration Changes
This year, we are simplifying registration for family members who are riding together, by identifying all the members of your group during registration. Each member of your family will have their own pre-printed wristband with lunch ticket. Family members who are children will have a reduced-price registration and a child sized T-shirt included with their registration. Adults will earn one adult-sized shirt by raising at least $100 on your family fundraising page. Additional shirts can be purchased in the store.
New Fundraising Rewards
This year, in addition to the special shirts for our top ten fundraisers, we have some new rewards for our hardest-working fundraisers. Everyone who raises a minimum of $100 will receive the gift bag and T-shirt. At the $500 level, you will have special access to our Big Wheel Pavilion with some really special treats featuring Stemple Creek Ranch locally raised organic grass fed beef. There's also extra treats and goodies to help you with your ride or walk recovery. All riders/walkers who raise at least $1000 will also receive a Tour of Novato bike jersey.
Pre-Event Registration Pick-up
For those of you who want to skip the event day check-in lines, you can stop by to see our friends at Bicycle Brüstop from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5 to pick up your packet early. They are located at the intersection of Grant Ave. and Sherman Ave. in downtown Novato right by the start/finish line for the Tour of Novato.
New this year is a great experience for those of you who either aren't comfortable riding on the streets or can't join us on Saturday. Our friends at CycleBar Novato in Hamilton are making their facility available on Sunday May 7th at 12:30pm for an indoor cycling challenge. They will be playing a video taken on the West Marin Metric Century route during your ride for some virtual fun. Of course, they will also be playing some great tunes choreographed by one of their great CycleStar instructors. More times may be available depending upon the interest in this option.
Stemple Creek Ranch Beef
We are excited to announce that the food choices this year will feature Stemple Creek Ranch locally raised, organic, all natural, grass-fed beef! Those of you who achieve "Big Wheel" status by fundraising $500 or more will be treated to some extra special options from Stemple Creek Ranch. Not a beef eater? Not to worry, there will be plenty of other options as well, including vegan options.
