What's New for 2018
Welcome to our new and returning participants. We've planned another great event for you this year with some fresh and interesting activities.
New Novato Classic Distance Options
The 40K (25 miles) option is still available, but this year we are offering a 25k (15.5 miles) and 50k (31 miles) option as well. You'll register for the Novato Classic and then follow the easy to follow route directions according to which distance is appropriate for you on the day of the ride.
Family Registration Changes
This year, we are continuing to simplify registration for family members who are riding together by identifying all the members of your group during registration. Each member of your family will have their own pre-printed wristband. The wrist bands will include your lunch ticket, and any special purchases like Inflatable Play Area Access. Youth registrations are at a reduced-price and include a child sized T-shirt and child's meal. All Adult registrations include an adult meal. Adults that raise at least $100 on your family fundraising page will also earn one adult-sized shirt. Additional shirts can be purchased in the store on this website.
New Fundraising Rewards
This year, in addition to the special shirts for our top ten fundraisers, we have some new rewards for our hardest-working fundraisers. Everyone who raises a minimum of $100 will receive the gift bag and T-shirt. At the $500 level, you will have several additional lunch options featuring Stemple Creek Ranch locally raised organic grass fed beef. There's also extra treats and goodies to help you with your ride or walk recovery. All riders/walkers who raise at least $1000 will also receive a Tour of Novato bike jersey or golf shirt.
Pre-Event Registration Pick-up
For those of you who want to skip the event day check-in lines, you can stop by to see our friends at Bicycle Brüstop from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4 to pick up your packet early. They are located at the intersection of Grant Ave. and Sherman Ave. in downtown Novato right by the start/finish line for the Tour of Novato.
Back again this year is a great experience for those of you who either aren't comfortable riding on the streets or can't join us on Saturday. Our friends at CycleBar Novato in Hamilton are making their facility available on Sunday May 6th at 12:30pm for an indoor cycling challenge. They will be playing a video taken on the streets of West Marin during your ride for some virtual fun. Of course, they will also be playing some great tunes choreographed by one of their great CycleStar instructors. More times may be available depending upon the interest in this option.
Stemple Creek Ranch Beef
We are excited to announce that the food choices this year will once again feature Stemple Creek Ranch locally raised, organic, all natural, grass-fed beef! Those of you who achieve "Big Wheel" status by fundraising $500 or more will be treated to some extra special options from Stemple Creek Ranch. Not a beef eater? Not to worry, there will be plenty of other options as well, including vegan options.
Stay tuned for information on this very exciting addition to this year's event.
The West Marin Metric Century has been Discontinued
Unfortunately, due to high financial and logistical costs of offering a metric century route, we have decided to discontinue the West Marin Metric Century ride. Thank you to all the avid cyclists who have joined us on this route in the past. We hope you will consider riding the 50 km Novato Classic route as an alternative. Ride it twice if you like!
